Desert Racing is terribly slow here

Post by amigaz »

Hi :)

Was very exited when the game was released and ordered it right away.
I tried it first on my A4000 '060 50mhz in AGA and the game was very slow..only the intro animation moved as it should but the game really crawled.
So I tested the CGX version instead with my Cybervision 64 gfx card (running P96) and it's still very very slow..the car race moves almost in slow motion.
Ok, so I installed it on my A4000 in tower case with Mediator board and a voodoo 5, Cyberstorm PPC...game was about 1 fps faster :(
Is this game not meant for real Amiga's or just WinUAE? if it's made for real Amiga's a speedcup patch is needed or a PPC version so it's playable..I feel vedry sad top have paid foir an unplayable game..I only use my real Amiga's here and know nothing about emulators.

Spec's on the Amiga's I tested the game on:

A4000D
Cyberstorm MKII '060 50mhz, 80mb fast ram
Cybervision 64 gfx card
4.3 gig SCSI hd connected to Cyberscsi module on the CS MKII
OS3.9 BB2, Picasso 96 RTG system

A4000
Mediator 4000, Cyberstorm PPC, 128mb 60ns fast ram
Voodoo 5 gfx card, SB128, 10k rpm SCSI hd connected to CS PPC SCSI
OS3.9 BB2, Picasso 96 RTG system

Hello

We work at this moment at a patch for Desert Racing. The Problem is, on all system where we testing the game, works fine. example my own Amiga 4000, 060ppc, Picasso 96, Picasso IV, OS 3.9 work AGA and gfxcard version perfect.

I hope we have end of the next week a news version from the game.

please write a email to andreas@apc-tcp.de with the subject "Desert Racing"!
