Mayhem as HTML5 implementation

Published 13.03.2022 - 11:49 by osz

Mayhem is the name of a Norwegian black metal band from 1984, but it is also the title of a game for the Amiga by Espen Skoglund from the early 90s. Whether the author of the game was inspired by the band is unknown, at least to me. What I am aware of is the fact that it is a game where up to four players compete against each other. The aim is to eliminate the opponent's spaceship. That's pretty much it if it weren't for the gravity and the obstacles that combine to drive you insane.

Around the year 2000 there was an adaptation of the game for the PC. Even later, the game was implemented with new graphics for the Raspberry Pi. There is now an HTML5 implementation of the game that runs in the browser: https://devpack.github.io/mayhem-html5

More information is also available in the project's GitHub repository: https://github.com/devpack/mayhem-html5
