In today`s Interview Fabio Trotta talked to Massimiliano Tretene, M&M Main
coder for the World Foundry.

1. Since how many years are you an AMIGA user ?

Massimiliano:

I`m an Amiga user since 1988. It just became with a second hand A500. After that I had a A500+, A2000, CD32, A1200, A3000, A4000 and A4000T...

2. Why are you an AMIGA User and not for example a Mac or Windows User ?

Massimiliano:

To be honest I`m a Mac and Window (and Linux) user too, since I work as developer, but my Amiga is the prefered (and most used) one. Why ? Freedom ! I feel free when I use my miggy.

3. What Computer(s) do you use at home ?

Massimiliano:

On my desk there are an A4000 Tower with PPC/CVPPC and a nice LCD monitor, for my programming enviroment, and an A3000 with a 060 and Picasso for Internet and multimedia (I got a Concierto card with PalomaTv and Pablo) At work I`ve an AMD2 PC, a PowerMac, an A4000 with 060 and Picasso and an A1200 with PPC/BVPPC.

4. What are your hobbies beside the AMIGA ?

Massimiliano:

I like to spent my free time with my girlfriend :) My hobbies are anyway computers related since I spent a lot of time programming M&M and other projects like GLQuake and a 3d tank game. I`m a big Ferrari fan too and I like to travel around the Europe.

5. What are your favourite games at the moment ?

Massimiliano:

I don`t have enough free time to play, but I liked playing with the latest Resident Evil - Nemesis, GLQuake (you guess why ? :) and... Crash Bandicot CRT with my 7 years old nephew.

6. How long are you a World Foundry member for now ?

Massimiliano:

Been a fulltime member of the company for about 2/3 months and was working as a contracted programmer before that.

7. What`s exactly your job at the World Foundry ?

Massimiliano:

I`m the lead programmer for M&M and code contributor to other TWF projects.

8. How many people are behind the World Foundry ?

Massimiliano:

Currently there are 6 people. myself, Nathan Young, Chris Page, Ed Collins, Rob Asumendi & John Asumendi.

9. What are the actual projects of the World Foundry and at what state they are ?

Massimiliano:

E2260 and M&M. E2260 is in development for Amiga and Linux. Progress on E2260 is going reasonably. May be finished in a year or so. M&M, god knows. :) It`s due my latest lack of time to spent on M&M.

10. Is there be the will at the World Foundry to port games from other systems ?

Massimiliano:

There are no plans to port any games. We prefer original games. Likes of DI and Hyperion seem to be doing quite well in the game ports business so we wouldn't want to intrude. :)

11. What about your projects beside the work at the World Foundry ?

Massimiliano:

I`m searching for a new job ! I`m just joking. I`m planning to fund my own softwarehouse but it`s a long term project. I`ll focus on the entertainment market.

12. What do you think about the AMIGA situation at all ?

Massimiliano:

I found it very strange. We have may new and very good games for our miggy, but there is a lack of new serious applications. There is little hardware development despite the big announcments. There are a lot of unfinished products... About the new Amiga ? I`ve bought the new SDK and I`m playing with it, but there are still a lot of missing features. It`s a good start anyway. I hope to see a new machine too, mainly a game machine. I really hope that the rumors about an handheld Amiga are true...

13. Do you have any words to the AMIGA Software Piracy Scene ?

Massimiliano:

A word on the piracy problem ? Just one: Shame !

14. And at the end is there anything for our Community ?

Massimiliano:

Yes, keep the Amiga spirit alive !!!

Many thanks for your time and i wish you much succes and good sales. And very special thanks for porting the GL Froggame :) to our loved System.

Massimiliano:

Thank you and Ciao !!!
