Today Fabio Trotta talked to Treveur Bretaudiere, the Overshaker. He brought us many WB Themes and is working hard on more and the great Virtual Vendetta Icons.

1. Hi Treveur, how long are you an Amiga User now ?

Well I don't remeber well... Is it 13 or 14 years old? Anywayz, a very long time for sure!

2. What machine do you use to create all the stuff ?

Only Amiga, although a pen is useful too in certain circumstances :) Gotta say that PPaint is still one the my favs, with TVPaint and Candy.

3. Why have you chosen the AMIGA as your system ?

At the time, it was an low cost equipment, with very hi-specs and nice games I wos 11 or 12...Games used to be important for me. I also bought the machine to impress my friends, I still can remember how proud I used to be then.

4. Why are you the Overshaker ? ;)

oh, I'm not The Overshaker or such.Overshaker is just some site that's aimed to anyone interested in working on nicer systems, since we all spend a lot of time on computers nowadays...It's future resides in producing other's work as well as mine.

Why the name? I just wanted to shake a bit my workbench look'n'feel with better gfx, icons and so on. The project is very old but due to several hard crashs I lost most of my work...Hence the feeble amount of themes uploadable (to my opinion). But since it's online, I would now be able to handle any hard crash easily.

5. What are your hobbies beside the AMIGA ?

Sailing, skiing, trekking... In fact many lone sports.

6. What are your favourite games at the moment ?

Payback and Exodus. On pc it's Planescape torment and Heroes Of Might & Magic 3.

7. When did you got the idea to make Themes and Icons and why did you started that ? Ain`t there enough good icons out there ?

It wos 5 years ago, when I decided to upgrade my Amiga with some gfx card. I then thought that better systems involved better aspect and started working on Urouhack themes.. I never released theese for the reason I told before although I still regret it... If fact there IS very nice stuff for amiga workbench out there. But I wanted something more dark, more underground, something like the way I feel Amiga.

8. Your Virtual Vendetta Icons are still beta and not released. When do you think there will be the first official release ?

Soon. Sooner or later...Errr.. Yes I think...Oh, u buggah ;)

9. Do you made all the stuff alone, or are there any other persons ?

Overshaker website is a cooperative work of very few people, mostly Cyber2th, ShdW, BEAVS sometimes when I can find him, my girlfriend that bugs me all day long with "why don't you do some Ranma1/2 theme? Or Princess Mononoke? Or stuff? She's such a great source for ideas ;). For the curious, Thoose themes are quite ready, I'm still working on the buttons though.

10. How does your own WB look, do you change it every few months ?

When I find the time, yes, I change it every month... Otherwise I use DarkNowee, wich is my favourite.

11. What are the rules for making a "perfect" theme ?

The colors are the key. A perfect theme needs to be sober, thin and efficient. U must be able to see everything within a simple look, the main window should catch any users eye immediately, the colors must be very soft for the eyes and most screens should handle the background gfx, The whole stuff outta be coherent, ie only main color should be seen everywhere apart from important details like window titles...That's the most important thing I think... Don't we hate such screens that handles commodore light grey, MUI light blue or grey, amigaOS 3.5 red and blue backgrounds, with light blue icons, and strange window colors? I do!

12. Do you have any future plans ? What will be the next stuff ?

Yep. I want to finish the 5 next themes that I'm currently working on. I am starting another icon colly, It's a mess but I love the icons... I want to improve overshaker for it to handle users uploads, skins and members.

13. What do you think about the actual amiga market ?

It could be better, but it could also be worse. Since I can afford anything easily and use my amiga like any other computer, it's okay. And my PlayII is enuff for games. Although I don't like very much the ones I have :)

14. Do you think that Amiga Inc. goes the right way this time ? Do they have any chance to hit the market in any way ?

I think that Amiga owners are clever. Their investors too. The whole project is viable, interesting and worth a look. We should go forward and it could be the way. Many people is interested by amiga's projects. I am interested like the many.

15. Do you have any nice comments to our readers ?

Oh, hum, HELLO... ;) Feel free to mail me for comments and so on. And your own themes might be the next overshaker release, who knows ?

Thanks for the time and i wish that you soon release a first public of your Icons. Hope to see more of your work in the future.
