Right up there with Little Puff in Dragonland and Captain Planet, this game is incredibly difficult for the audience it is directed at, tell the truth, its difficult for anyone!
Space Mutants from outer space are planning an invasion of Earth, starting with the quite nuclear-powered American town of Springfield. But what they don't expect is the infamous rebel Bart Simpson and his family to get in their way!
I can't quite remember the plot, but the Space Mutants's plan relied on the many objects on Earth that are purple, or they placed objects on Earth which were purple. In level one, Bart has to hunt down these purple everyday objects and spray-paint them red, thus foiling the aliens' plans! Using various tools such as fireworks, Bart must eliminate all things purple while at the same time, freeing inhabitants of Springfield who are bodysnatched by alien parasites!
On level one, you find your first challenging section; the skateboarding. You must travel at high speed adn jump the ravenous dogs and alien critters. Sound easy? It isn't. At the end of each level you recieve the help of one of the Simpsons family, so long as you have collected all of the letters of their name.
The problem I had was a limiting number of lives and far to many bad-guys. I'm sure I got to level three once, but that was after continuous play which probably drove me mad!
