"This game is much loved by everyone I know."
What the Amiga did best was often having humourous, original games; The Lost Vikings is very much one of them. After a good night of hunting, Erik the Swift, Olaf the Scout and Baleog the Fierce find themselves abducted by aliens from their homes. Waking up separated, all three of them must work together and escape the highly advanced, hazardous spaceship! But don't expect it to be that simple! Its a matter of getting home after that!
The game has an ingenius 'teamwork' control method which is worked through only one player. Each Viking has certain skills and weaknesses, and you must use them together to pass each level. Be careful though; if one Viking is struck just once he dies, you can keep going after that, but you won't get far.
Erik - red and blue - can jump and run very fast as well as having a special ram-attack that breaks walls. Olaf has a unbelievably strong shield - capable of repealing alien lasers and multiple huge lizards, the shield can also double as a handglider. Baleog (everyone's favourite) can kill anything with his sword and bow, though he cannot jump or fly or defend himself.
Graphics are neat and cartoony, control (once understood how to change characters) is easy, while the music is sound is simple but effective. Recommended. Look out for it on Nintendo's Gameboy Advanced, no, I'm not kidding, Lost Vikings is so popular that it has jumped into the next generation!
