I should be careful what I say here...
It's an arcade game, so who knows how many of you have played it and loved it, and its SEGA, so it probably got some high marks once. But I say this game is rather poor.
Like most arcade games, its fast, its noisy and and its horribily inaccurate. Galaxt Force II - not sure what the original was - is a messy pile of gritty sound effects, pixelated graphics and poor voice-overs, and a healthy dose of bad controls.
There are several planets which serve as levels in the game, all with given difficulties. So you might pick easy to start off. A moon, infested with aliens. Your mission, fly to the moon, kill any hostiles on transit, enter the moon via tunnel, and destroy something important.
Realistically, on your way to the moon, destroy EVERYTHING that moves; it'll be a huge mess of pixels, grey blobs, blue blobs, green flare-thingies, so shoot anything! You'll get powerups without really realising it so don't worry. Next, the tunnel... oh joy. The tunnel appears to be made of large flat panels facing you (instead of actual walls) so if you turn (your ship has the turning circle of a brick) and hit these 'walls' (dead certainty) you'll stop dead and loose health. After about a thousand times striking the walls, lets say... your sick of it. Plus, what is it with the farmer music over the high scores?
