"A big classic game, yet I haven't given it all my attention."
This game is on a similar tact of Chaos Engine, only less mindless shooting and more searching for clues, items and other characters. Of course, there is plenty of monsters to slay!
The plot is completely unknown to me, as with a lot of Amiga games there is no prologue - unless you have the manual, which I don't - and I didn't play this game enough to find out the conclusion... But, I do know that you seem to be a chosen warrior, sent down from the heavens to rid the world of monsters (and quite probably, find the Dragonstone!)
The graphics are not far off Chaos Engine, all of the figures have multiple angles and can even attack and be directed diagonally. The landscapes are full of detail, some of which is animated, and the sound effects give a real sense of surroundings; walk up close to a river, and the sound of running water will slowly fade into effect.
The controls can be a bit too loose at times, your character, when surrounded by enemies, can often point in the wrong direction in the panic; the difference between left, diagonally up and up, can be very subtle. But with some practice and steady hands, you can easily master it.
The sound, as I say, is excellent, and even the main theme of the game is unique and quite effective. Of course, this is due to the game being a later Amiga title, around the time when the computer was fading from the market-place.
