Emojis and more: Pangomonium 1.0 released

Published 18.03.2024 - 16:18 by AndreasM

Airsoft Softwair, the hardest working men in code business, are proud to present a massive new plugin release for Hollywood: Pangomonium - The Ultimate Text Engine for Hollywood. Pangomonium is a plugin of epic proportions and the first plugin only available for Hollywood 10. Pangomonium contains an ultramodern, state-of-the-art text engine that can be used to draw text in almost any language of the world. On top of that, it also supports advanced text features like fonts with colored glyphs. This finally makes it possible to write programs which support emojis on Amiga as well! Pangomonium is based on the established Pango and Cairo text and vector graphics libraries and also allows you to access the complete Pango and Cairo function set directly from Hollywood scripts. Of course, there is also a high-level interface which allows you to conveniently draw text without having to delve into Pango and Cairo programming. Pangomonium has been two years in the making and is now finally ready for release exclusively for Hollywood 10.0.

Here are just some of Pangomonium's impressive features:

- draw text in almost all languages of the world (including complex scripts and layouts such as bidirectional text, right-to-left layouts etc.) [...]

ScummVM 2.3.0 RTG released

Published 18.03.2024 - 02:25 by AndreasM

ScummVM released in the Version 2.3.0 RTG.

ScummVM is an interpreter that allows you to run certain classic graphical point-and-click adventure games on an Amiga (provided you have their data files). The clever part about this: ScummVM just replaces the executables shipped with the games, allowing you to play them on systems for which they were never designed! This Amiga ScummVM port only supports certain ScummVM game engines (see About Box within the ScummVM Launcher).

Amiga Future is looking again for reinforcements

Published 16.03.2024 - 10:34 by AndreasM

News originally published on: 08.02.2024 - 12:53

Seeing as our printed edition of Amiga Future has now been published for over 25 years, we are at a point when we need to massively increase our editorial team for the magazine and also the home pages for our website.
The idea behind this is to relieve the workload on more of our entire team, to better distribute the load amongst all our editorial staff, and in so doing reduce the stress and workload on everyone involved, while at the same time further increasing the magazine's overall quality.

It is all in the hope that the next 25 years will be a little easier for everyone in the editorial team, and even better for our readers. :)
